Around the world in Cessna 182

June 05, 2004
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (WMKK) to Jakarta, Indonesia (WIII)

Not wasting any time, at 02:00 (local), I took off from the Kuala Lumpur International airport and set the course towards the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta (heading 151). The automated flight plan generator wanted me to fly at 3,000 ft. but I did not like that idea, so I climbed to 9,000 instead. It did take a bit longer, but I used less (virtual) fuel.

The flight took me over the Straight of Malacca, Sumatra, the Java Sea and finally the island of Java where Jakarta is located.

The weather was much better, only scattered clouds so the approach and the landing were much less stressful than during the previous leg.

I will now rest and hopefully continue tomorrow.
